Paradise Lost is an epic poem by John Milton, an English poet, thinker and politician. The poem describes in blank verse a story of the first man Adam. Besides, the author actively develops a plot of the Book of Genesis about the Fall of Man, the creation of the world and the formation of the hell that is situated in the impenetrable darkness or chaos. A big role is played by the fallen angel, a.k.a. Satan or snake. He rises against God, as he doesn't want to bow down before his son; he secretly leads the third of angels and organises an armed struggle against the angels that stayed, and he is the reason for the Fall of Man?
